I became pregnant while on the pill and using a condom. The condom broke and I didn’t take the pill reliably at the same time every day. I was young and irresponsible but responsible enough to know I did not want and could not support a child emotionally or financially. The decision wasn’t difficult, it was the only choice for me. I have no regret or sadness about it. I would have been more emotionally distressed carrying to term and giving away the baby or knowing I wasn’t caring for the baby in the way it should be cared for. If life is precious then that should mean the life you can give that child should be taken into consideration. Living in a country with forced pregnancy terrifies me, for the women and the children brought about in that way.
