It seems there are so many stories these days where folks are telling how courageous their parents (mothers) were for not aborting them and that they are somehow “miracles” because of the choice their mothers made. ‘Yes, my mom was poor, had one wooden leg and still had the guts to give birth to me, praise the lord hallelujah. Um, this was not a miracle, this was a choice.
If you want to hear a miracle where abortion is concerned then I have a story for you…
Once upon a time a woman who knew she was pregnant went to the ER in the middle of the night because she was bleeding (yes from her vagina). After conducting a pregnancy test the ER Dr informed her, that yes, she was pregnant. (duh). She then asked about the bleeding… hours later she is taken to the ultrasound room where doctors could not locate a fetus inside her uterus. She then underwent a transvaginal probe ultra sound where something was detected however location was not specific. The woman was instructed to go home, keep her knees/ legs elevated to control the bleeding and to return if the bleeding increased. The woman went home and did as instructed. The bleeding subsided and she went in to work the next morning.
While at work the woman became feverish and suddenly started to hemorrhage. She was taken to her own physician at this time. Upon immediate examination the doctor informed the woman that she will need to undergo a procedure to remove the fetus. When the woman questioned this the doctor informed her that it was her choice however if she chose to remain pregnant she will most certainly die. Now not many doctors could get away with this statement however this doctor was faced with a patient who was going to die on his table. The woman again asked if there was anything else that could be done. The doctor informed her that the fetus had attached to the fallopian tube and that the tube ruptured. There was no way to save the fetus and if it was not removed immediately the woman would bleed to death. The woman who already had two younger children at home was not in a position to die for her unborn child as she was needed to care for her born children. The woman chose the therapeutic abortion.
How is this a miracle? Well, the woman lived to raise the children she had chosen to give birth to and due to the procedure being performed in a hospital under the direction of a skilled licensed professional she went on to have two more children who, as a result of this therapeutic abortion, truly are miracles.
Is this a true story? Yes. How can I be sure? Because the woman is me and I look at my two youngest as genuine miracles every day!
