I had an abortion when I was 19 and I had just started college. I was not ready to become a parent, I knew it very clearly, and it was a decision that was not without hesitation, I did think about it. But ultimately I made the decision that I thought was right. I was able to finish my education and go on from there, and later on had two children — wonderful children. I think that if I had not made that decision back then in 1974, I would not be where I am today. I probably would not have finished college. Who knows.
